Clinical Nurse RN Bedside
The Clinical Nurse RN Bedside Award is to recognize an outstanding and deserving nurse that works in the clinical / community setting. He / She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, patients and their families to provide care for sick individuals or for promotion of health. Demonstrates active involvement in Advocacy, Promotion of a safe environment, Health Care Policy and in Patient and Health Systems Management and Education.
NOMINEES MUST:
1. Be an active paid and active member of a local chapter or NAINA.
2. Recognized for their significant contribution in their area of practice (involvement in various councils, advocacy, policy matters etc.)
3. Collaboration with other ethnic/American nursing organizations through local chapter/NAINA.
4. Has made significant nursing contribution to Indian community in US and in India.
5. Letter of recommendation from Supervisor / Community Leader.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN)
An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is a nurse who has a Masters, Post-Masters Certificate, or Practice-focused Doctor of Nursing practice degree in one of four specific roles. APRNs are licensed through a state board of nursing to provide patient care within their role and patient population focus.
The APRN Award recognizes an outstanding and deserving Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Clinical Nurse Mid-wife (CNM), Nurse Practitioner (NP), and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) who have contributed to advancing health care practices in their respective fields.
NOMINEES MUST:
1. Be an active paid member of a local chapter or NAINA.
2. Recognized at the Chapter or National level for their significant contribution.
3. Recommendation from Supervisor / Clients
4. Collaboration with other ethnic/ American nursing organizations through local chapter/NAINA
5. Has made significant nursing contribution to Indian community in US and in India.
6. Exemplifying strong leadership skills in areas such as professional development, clinical skills, mentoring, and /or innovative practice.
7. Made significant contributions in evidence-based practice.
Nurse Faculty – Includes Academia and Nurse Educators
The Nurse Faculty Award is to recognize the outstanding and deserving Academic/Clinical Nurse Educators who participate in the advancement and practice of nursing and exemplify strong organizational skills and Leadership.
NOMINEES MUST:
1. Be an active paid member of a local chapter or NAINA.
2. Recognized at the Chapter or National level for their significant contribution.
3. Recommendation from Supervisor/ Clients
4. Collaboration with other ethnic/ American nursing organizations through local chapter/NAINA
5. Has made significant nursing contribution to Indian community in US and in India.
6. Active involvement of professional scholarly work /presentation (podium/poster)/publications.
Nursing Administrator
Nurse administrators are members of the management team in a given healthcare setting. They are employed in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, public health offices, and large clinics. While they may occasionally interact with patients, their primary responsibility is managing a team of nurses. It includes Supervisors, CNLs, CNOs and CEOs.
The award is to recognize the outstanding contribution done in the health care setting locally and internationally specially for the Indian Community.
NOMINEES MUST:
1. Be an active paid member of a local chapter or NAINA.
2. A minimum two years of experience in the role of director, administrator or supervisor.
3. Provide evidence of innovative, impactful leadership in healthcare setting.
4. Local, National and International recognition.
5. Maintain current and required accreditation for the respective positions.
6. Recommendation from a Peer or Supervisor as applicable.
Nurse Informatics & Nurse Entrepreneur
American Medical Informatics Association identifies Nursing Informatics as the “science and practice (that) integrates nursing, its information and knowledge, with information and communication technologies to promote the health of people, families, and communities worldwide.”
Nurse Theory defines a nurse entrepreneur as a nurse who leverages their healthcare background along with creativity, business systems knowledge, and successful investment strategies to develop their own business in the healthcare industry.
This award recognizes an individual who has initiative, vision and proven productivity in the field of nursing.
NOMINEES MUST:
1. Be an active paid member of a local chapter or NAINA.
2. Recognized at the Chapter or National level for their significant contribution.
3. Collaboration with other nursing organizations through local chapter/NAINA
4. Has made significant nursing contribution to Indian community in US and in India.
5. Letter of recommendation from the Supervisor / Clients.
NURSE INFORMATICS:
1. Current licensed practicing nurse informatics leader within a health care or non-nursing organization for at least 2 years.
2. Provide evidence of clinical system development, implementation of clinical tools to optimize and improve patient/consumer/clinical workflow.
NURSE ENTREPRENEUR:
1. Currently practicing in the USA as a Licensed nurse entrepreneur engaged in a health-related enterprise.
2. Provide evidence with links to websites (i.e., Business model for legal nurse consultant, wellness coach, nurse staffing, nurse blogger/free-lance writer) in their role as nurse entrepreneur.
3. Participation in community/clinical projects to promoted and/or engaged in innovative strategies toward improving health care delivery.
